Account
Sign in for the first time?
  1. Go to ac6ee.org/net-control.
  2. If you're also in WKC ARES and were brought over, sign in with the same call sign and password you use on ARES.
  3. Otherwise click Register, enter your call sign, click 🔍 Look up to fill in your FCC info, and choose a password and a security question.
  4. If an admin gave you a temporary password, sign in with it — you'll be asked to pick your own right away.
Reset a forgotten password?
  1. On the sign-in page click Forgot Password.
  2. Enter your call sign and answer your security question, then choose a new password.
  3. No security question on file? Ask a TARA admin to reset it for you.
Get approved after I sign up?

New accounts show Waiting for approval until a TARA Global Admin approves them. Once approved you can use everything in Net Control — nets, activations, ICS forms, events, the directory and maps. Questions? Email info@ac6ee.org.

Weekly Nets
Run tonight's net?
  1. Dashboard → Weekly Nets. Make sure the region (top right) is the one you're running.
  2. Click ➕ Start New Net. Date, time and frequency fill in from the net template.
  3. Type each call sign as stations check in. Members fill in automatically; visitors can be added as guests.
  4. When the net closes, save it. It appears under Recent Nets, where you can reopen it to fix anything.
Hand a division to another operator?

Inside an open net, use the division's hand-off option to send that operator a link. The link opens a simple check-in page — no login needed — and expires when the net closes or after 12 hours.

Set the net-control rotation?

Weekly Nets → Net Control Schedule tab. Pick an NCO for each upcoming date. The assigned operator must have a TARA Net Control account.

Change the net's name, time, frequency or divisions?

Weekly Nets → Divisions tab. Changes apply to new nets; past nets keep what they recorded.

Activations & ICS Forms
Start an activation (emergency, drill or public-service event)?
  1. Dashboard → Activations & ICS Forms → 📻 + New Activation.
  2. Give it a name, date and location. Open it to get the activation console.
Fill out an ICS form (205, 205A, 213, 213RR, 214, 309)?
  • ICS-205 / 205A — the comms plan and contact list. Fill in channels and contacts on their tabs.
  • ICS-213 — general messages. ICS-213RR — resource requests.
  • ICS-309 — the comms log; every message you log lands here.
  • ICS-214 — the activity log; it records actions automatically (shift changes, messages, check-ins).

Each form has a 📄 Download PDF button for printing or emailing.

Let someone without an account log traffic?

In the activation, click 🔑 NCO Link. It makes a link for just that activation; the operator enters their call sign and can log 213s, 213RRs and 309 entries. Links expire a week after the event.

Record a shift change?

In the activation, click ⚡ Shift Change. It's written to the ICS-214.

Volunteer Check-In
Clock in and out at an event?
  1. Open ac6ee.org/net-control/hours/ on your phone — no login needed.
  2. Enter your call sign, pick the event, enter your station, tap ▶️ Clock In.
  3. When you're done, open the same page and tap ⏹ Clock Out.
  4. Forgot to clock? Type your total hours instead and tap Submit. Entries are accepted for 7 days after the event.
Create an event so volunteers can check in?

Dashboard → Events & Volunteer Hours → create the event. It shows on the check-in page from the event date through 7 days after. Admins can add or fix hours there at any time.

Directory & Maps
Find a member's contact info?

Dashboard → Directory. Filter by region; use the emergency call list for a printable phone list.

Use the All Hams Map?
  • Green pins are TARA members; gold are licensed hams who aren't members yet.
  • Pick a region to zoom to that area. Search by call or name.
  • The FCC data refreshes weekly on its own. The refresh button forces one now — keep the page open until it finishes.
Admin Global Admin
Add a member?

Members can register themselves. To add someone yourself: Admin Panel → Add a User. A random temporary password is filled in — give it to them; they'll pick their own on first sign-in.

Reset someone's password?

Admin Panel → find the member → Reset PW. The temporary password shows on screen; give it to them.

Approve a new sign-up?

Admin Panel → find the member marked pending approval → ✔ Approve. Or use ✔ Approve all pending at the top of the Members list. Revoke approval takes access away again.

Bring members over from ARES?
  1. On the ARES Admin Panel, use Send Tehachapi Members to TARA Net Control and download the file.
  2. On the TARA Admin Panel, use Import Members from ARES at the top and choose that file.
  3. Delete the file afterwards — it contains password hashes.
